Or you may go to where the ball went out of bounds and come back in on the path it went out of bounds until the ball is in play within a two club length not nearer the hole under a penalty of one stroke. You will be hitting three from that spot.

Note: If your second tee shot goes out of bounds you must then proceed to the point of entry and drop a ball, within two club lengths, not nearer the hole. You are now lying four, hitting five on your next shot. If a fairway shot goes out-of-bounds follow the same procedures. If you are not sure if a tee shot or fairway shot went out of bounds then hit a provisional ball (see below). All out of bounds stakes are specified on the Valley View score card.

All ponds and ditches are hazards unless otherwise specified on the score card. You cannot touch or reposition a ball in a hazard without incurring a two stroke penalty.

6. Ball in the Woods

Determine the point of entry into the woods, line up that point with the hole and walk straight back with Drop a ball with in two club lengths of the spot where the ball entered the woods but not nearer the hole.

7. Lost Ball or Ball Unplayable in the Fairway

If a ball is lost in the fairway, the player shall play another ball as near as possible at the spot from which the original ball was estimated to be if both parties agree it was lost in the fairway without a penalty.
